Project Manager (HV Energy / Data Center) – Cologne – 24 Month Contract
We are working with a global leader in hyperscale data centers to recruit an experienced Project Manager (HV Energy) to join their EMEA service delivery team. This is a high-impact role focused on the delivery of critical utility energy infrastructure projects-including high-voltage (HV) transmission systems, substation builds, and utility grid connections-to support data center operations across the region.
We are specifically seeking candidates with strong project management experience in substation construction and utility connections, ideally with exposure to 400kV transmission systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of energy infrastructure projects, including substations (up to 400kV), grid connections, and HV transmission assets.
- Coordinate cross-functional internal teams, utility providers, contractors, and external vendors to drive project success.
- Oversee planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resourcing to ensure timely and technically sound project delivery.
- Ensure full compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and internal sustainability goals throughout project execution.
- Manage procurement processes, track contractor performance, and handle contract administration including variations and invoicing.
- Identify and mitigate project risks early to protect timelines and outcomes.
- Conduct regular site visits and provide transparent project updates to internal leadership and external stakeholders.
About You:
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. Project management certifications (e.g. PMP, CEng) are a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience delivering complex utility infrastructure projects, with a track record in HV substations and utility connections.
- Prior experience with 400kV systems is highly desirable.
- Confident managing large-scale construction projects involving multiple stakeholders, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
- EU Passport or right to work in Germany.
