About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist for an onsite contract role in San Francisco. This position is ideal for candidates who have a passion for solving complex business problems through data, particularly within supply chain, logistics, or operational domains. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze, model, and interpret data to drive critical business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with supply chain, operations, and analytics teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business solutions.
- Build, deploy, and maintain predictive models and analytical tools.
- Analyze large, complex datasets to extract actionable insights and support business strategies.
- Develop and implement data pipelines, ETL processes, and data validation frameworks.
- Visualize findings and present results to stakeholders, making complex insights understandable and impactful.
- Assist in the development and refinement of KPIs and operational metrics.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science and supply chain analytics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a data scientist or data analyst role, ideally with exposure to supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, or operations.
- Strong programming skills in Python or R; experience with SQL is required.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and statistical modeling.
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
- Experience working with large datasets and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Nice to Have:
- Previous experience working in a supply chain or logistics-focused environment.
- Experience with optimization techniques, demand forecasting, or inventory modeling.
