About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled AWS Cloud Engineer to join our team on an in-office, contract basis in San Francisco. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure and services within AWS to support our enterprise systems. Previous experience supporting supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing environments is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- Implement best practices for security, monitoring, logging, and cost optimization in AWS.
- Collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and operations teams to support application deployment pipelines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve AWS-related infrastructure issues to ensure system reliability and uptime.
- Support cloud migration initiatives and optimize existing cloud-based solutions.
- Ensure compliance with internal security and governance standards.
- Assist with disaster recovery planning, implementation, and testing.
- Provide technical guidance on AWS services, architecture, and integrations.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience working with AWS cloud services in a professional environment.
- Proficient in AWS core services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS, EKS, CloudWatch, IAM, VPCs, etc.
- Strong scripting experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes a plus).
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline tooling (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline).
- Familiarity with security best practices in cloud environments.
- Prior experience in supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, or related sectors is a big plus.
- AWS certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, etc.) are desirable.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
- Experience with monitoring tools like Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
- Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, VPN, Load Balancers, etc.)

- Rate: Competitive hourly compensation, commensurate with experience.
